RishtaConnects — Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account on RishtaConnects, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use RishtaConnects.
• You must provide accurate and truthful information in your profile.
• Parent accounts must be created by the actual parent or legal guardian.
• Individual accounts must be created by the person whose profile they represent.

3. Account Responsibility

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• One person, one account. Do not create multiple accounts for yourself.
• A parent may create separate accounts for each son or daughter who is looking for a match.
• Do not share your account credentials with others.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload fake, misleading, or someone else's photos.
• Provide false information in your profile.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
• Send spam, unsolicited messages, or commercial content.
• Attempt to share contact information (phone, email, social media handles) inside chat. Sharing is blocked by default and only opens when both sides agree and an admin approves.
• Use the app for any purpose other than genuine matrimonial matchmaking.
• Scrape, copy, or extract data from the app.
• Attempt to hack, exploit, or disrupt the app or its infrastructure.
• Use AI features to generate misleading profile content, impersonate real people, or otherwise misrepresent yourself.

5. Profile Content

• You retain ownership of the content you upload (photos, bio, profile fields).
• By uploading content, you grant RishtaConnects a license to display it to other users for matchmaking purposes.
• Photos are automatically checked for appropriateness and to detect uploads of public figures who are not you. Photos that do not meet our guidelines will be rejected.
• We may remove content that violates these terms without notice.

6. Matching and Communication

• RishtaConnects provides matchmaking tools. We do not guarantee matches or outcomes.
• AI-generated compatibility scores, conversation help, and profile suggestions are advisory. They are not a substitute for your own judgment.
• Private chat between matched individuals is private to those two people. It may be reviewed only if one party reports the conversation for abuse.
• Contact information (phone numbers) is shared only after both parties indicate readiness and an admin approves the exchange.

7. Privacy Between Parent and Single

• If a single passes on a match, their family member is informed so they can refocus the search. The other family is not formally notified by the app.
• Private chat between two singles is not visible to parents.
• Personal boundaries and detailed lifestyle preferences entered by the single are not visible to their parent.

8. AI Features

• RishtaConnects uses a third-party AI provider to support features like Mitra (the profile-building assistant), compatibility insights, natural-language search, and conversation help.
• Some AI features require a paid subscription or one-time unlock once paid plans launch on 1 July 2026. These features are clearly marked in the app.
• AI suggestions are tools, not decisions. You are responsible for what you choose to send, save, or act on.

9. Subscriptions and Payments

• RishtaConnects launches paid plans on 1 July 2026. Until then, all features are free.
• Payments will be processed by our third-party payment provider. RishtaConnects does not see or store your payment card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from inside the app; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• One-time unlocks (for example, the Mitra add-on) are non-refundable once delivered.
• Subscriptions are billed at the family level. One subscription covers the linked parent and single accounts.
• If a subscription payment fails, we will email you before any account features are restricted.

10. Safety and Reporting

• You can block any user at any time from their profile.
• You can report users for fake profiles, harassment, spam, or inappropriate content from their profile or from chat.
• We review reports and may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
• If you encounter illegal activity, contact local authorities directly.

11. Account Suspension and Deletion

• We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
• You may delete your account at any time from inside the app: Settings, Account, Delete Account.
• Upon deletion, personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Backups are purged on our provider's standard backup cycle.
• Some anonymised, aggregated records may remain (for example, abuse signals or pilot metrics).

12. Limitation of Liability

• RishtaConnects is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
• We are not responsible for the actions, behaviour, or truthfulness of other users.
• We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app.
• You are responsible for your own decisions regarding matches and relationships.

13. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app and by email. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through good-faith discussion will be brought to the courts of Singapore.
